“Don Quixote ” trio-These three pieces are from “Historia de Don Quichotte de la Mancha” “Don Quixote”, Le Legacy” and “The Impossible Dream” all 1/150 on Japon. When this last suite signed by Dali came out “the Impossible Dream was not included” Bill Levine introduced “The Impossible Dream” in a special edition of these 3 images which actually tell the whole Don Quixote story. “Sewing Machine” from the portfolio “Hommage a Leonardo da Vinci” is an original engraving with color by pochoir, edition EA from the private collection of the atelier JJ Rigal- signed on the verso by Nicole Rigal his daughter. I had the opportunity to meet Mr Rigal and he was wonderful about all the intaglio work that he did for Salvador Dali in the 60’s and seventies. Dali – Heaven Canto 21
Dali – Heaven Canto 21, combination woodcut signed by Dali lower right and the edition is 81/150 in color and the black and white is an etching purportedly from the German edition is which they planned on making silk scarves after picking 33 of the 100 images in Divine Comedy which this is from. The etchings were never signed and I was fortunate to find one in which I had the signed wood cut from the 100 piece series. The blue signature is from the Heaven portion of the Divine Comedy. Framed dimensions 25 x 35 inches. Field page 197 and M/L 1126 VERY RARE
